Use Your Voice: Tell Senators to Include Immigrants in The COVID-19 Relief Package

Immigration

Posted July 2020

Congress is currently negotiating the details of the next COVID-19 relief package, including who will be eligible for aid. In March, Congress left millions of immigrants out of federal relief efforts. You can help ensure they don’t make the same mistake again — call your Senators now and urge them to include immigrants in COVID-19 relief by:

  • Automatically extending work permits for DACA recipients
  • Providing cash payments to all tax filers
  • Extending deferred action to all essential workers

Don’t know what to say? Here is a short message you can borrow.

Hi, my name is _______ and I’m a constituent.

I’m calling today to urge [Senator Name] to advocate for immigrants when negotiating the next COVID-19 relief package.

Millions of immigrants are helping America fight the pandemic, and they deserve federal aid. [OR] We cannot afford to exclude millions of people from federal aid in a pandemic that affects us all.

The next relief package should automatically extend work permits for DACA recipients, provide cash payments to all tax filers, and extend deferred action to all essential workers.
